FULL 12 hour Recertification Class

​SPO commission requirements and overview (Objectives: SPO-2 and SPO-3)
Ethics (Objective: SPO-8)

Student will learn about ethics, on duty and off duty conduct, accountability and professionalism.

Fourth Amendment (Objectives: SPO-5, SPO-6, SPO-10, SPO-11, SPO-12, SPO-14)

Topics will cover various legalities involving the Fourth Amendment (seizures, arrests, searches) and relative Maryland case law.

Use of Force (Objectives: SPO-17 and SPO-18)

Use of Force to include legalities, reasonable force, etc.

Conflict Management and Communication (Objectives: SPO-29, SPO-38, SPO-39)

Topics involve crisis communication skills, de-escalation, mental health, and problem solving.

Terrorism (Objectives: SPO-57 and SPO-58)

Topics on terrorism indicators and awareness.
